#MonthOfLove with Liven It Up Events and Entertaining Company

At our recent end of year wrap up and holiday get together, Wendy of Entertaining Company and I, started discussing how the  wedding couples that choose us as wedding vendors are really focusing on the desire to up the ante on the “uniqueness” of their wedding. Then as we started discussing what it means to be “unique”, we started talking about how there were certain overall style trends that seem to be emerging among many of the couples we were seeing. These styles also led the couples to seek out specific venues. Our couples tended to gravitate to the styles of Classic/Formal, Rustic/Urban, Vintage/Romantic, and Modern/ Chic.

Generally we defined the styles as:

Classic /Formal: Elegantly Polished, Seamless, Timeless

Rustic/Urban: Finds beauty in nature, sustainable natural elements enhance for a modern “look”

Vintage/Romantic: Embodying whimsy, lightness, simplicity of yesteryear, feminine

Modern/Chic: Linear, White, Smooth, Hip

We got excited to talk to our respective teams to see how a planner working with a custom caterer could develop and enhance these weddings within these trends.  We went ahead and randomly divided our Liven It Up and Entertaining Company consultants into teams and had a brainstorming session on each of these bridal styles from a planning and culinary perspective. The teams we came up with are Wendy and I (Classic/Formal), Julie and Misha (Rustic/Urban), Kenny and Jackie (Vintage/Romantic) and Regan and Vanessa (Modern/Chic).

In honor of Valentine’s Day, each Wednesday in February, a LIU/EC team is going to describe and discuss planning a wedding within one of these styles and call it #MonthofLove.

Stay tuned to Wednesday, February 5th as we continue our conversation!

Wedding RECAP @ Prairie Productions with Liven It Up Events

We are back at Prairie Productions today, looking back at a fall wedding we had. This was a great wedding where the style was more suited for a cocktail style reception. The ceremony was off site so when the guests arrived, they walked into the space and they were able to wander through the space.

Specialty cocktails, passed hors d’oeuvres, and ethic themed food stations were served up by Entertaining Company, while the guests mingled over cocktail tables with beautiful arrangements by Exquisite Designs! The enjoyed music throughout the night by Stitely Orchestra and Steve Koo captured the evening with his expert photography skills! Sonia Roselli’s team helped beautify the ladies and Windy City Limos got everyone from point A to point B.

Our favorite part of the night was the crepe station… Nutella, double chocolate fudge and caramel apple crepes! AMAZING!

Take a look at some of the snap shots we took!

Wedding RECAP @ Prairie Productions

The team at Liven It Up Events is no stranger to Prairie Productions. Most of the team who worked for Caterers before joining Liven It Up, worked in the space. It has been around for quite a few years, well over a decade. Originally, and still used as, a photography studio, the all-white, natural light filled space, it is one of the only all white spaces in Chicago. The space can be used in so many ways. For this wedding, we had the ceremony onsite, cocktail hour in the garden, and then back inside for a plated seated dinner and dancing!

We had a great team of wedding pros at this wedding. Starting with Entertaining Company on food, Kelly Marie from Fleur on floral and d├ęcor, Toast & Jam DJ’s, Amy Beck Cake Design, Amanda Hein Photography, Aged Vintage Rentals and Tablescapes Party Rentals.

Take a look at this Prairie Wedding!
